Liam and Verity had decided to celebrate the whole 'officially moving in together' with a housewarming of sorts. Never mind that even before the rest of his stuff had made it over there, Liam had basically been living at the apartment in practice if not in name. Look, they wanted to throw a party, they were throwing a party. 'Housewarming' was just a convenient excuse.

The weapons that usually were strewn about the apartment had all been stashed in the bedroom, and there was a good selection of food and drinks (both alcoholic and non) laid out on the kitchen table. They might be in debt to the various restaurants in Fandom for providing the spread, but no one wanted to nosh on Verity's "leftover Chinese food fajita specials." The mice had even been bribed with a selection of the appetizers to stay away from the table of food. (They had not, however, been expressly forbidden from trying to convince anyone to give them food once it had left the table, so... fair warning.)

Coats go in the spare room and please don't touch the Barbie Dream House. Unless invited to by the mice, of course.

Miguel had to come and wish Liam and Verity the best, and there was nothing wrong with a good party, either, so here he was, with a bottle of wine as a housewarming present.

Well, at this rate, they wouldn't need to hit the liquor store any time soon ~~much like Miguel's narrative to Rosa suggested~~.

"Hey, man," he greeted. "How's it going?"

"Quieter by a quarter," Miguel joked, grinning. "How about you?"

"Pretty damn good." Liam grinned. Sorry, Miguel, you might've topped the list of 'favorite people to live with' at one time, but there was no competition right now.

"Glad to hear it." Miguel shrugged. "In case you couldn't tell by my reaction after that radio. You guys work."

“Yeah,” Liam scrubbed a hand through his hair. “I’m just glad I didn’t screw things up beyond fixing,” he admitted.

"Good thing," Miguel agreed. "Otherwise I'd've had to string you up by your feet and shake you until good sense showed up."

He was so sympathetic.

"Oh, by the way." He held out the wine. "Happy housewarming."

Okay, if more people were going to bring booze, Verity could actually get to liking this whole 'strangers in the house' thing.

"Hey, Miguel," Verity said with a faint smile of relief, since he was someone she actually knew. "Here to yell that I stole one of your roommates?"

"Hey, Verity." He grinned back. "Shock, no. I'm here to yell you won't be bringing the mice over anymore. How have you been?"

"I guess you'll just have to mosey on over here to visit," Verity said. "So Liam and the mice don't get lonely."

And if that slightly deflected his question, well, 'kidnapping, torture, and then relationship issues' made that question a little...fraught.

Eh, Miguel only knew about one of those, and that was enough. If she didn't want to talk, he got it.

"Maybe I will," he said, smiling. "How's everybody settling in?"

"The mice are ecstatic, Liam's got designs on my perfectly-serviceable kitchen table - " it was a table, but that was the only part of that description that was accurate " - and I'm holding firm my territory in the closet, because I have more tango costumes than he has khakis." Verity's lips were twitching. "So, I think we're about par for the course at this point?"

Miguel laughed. "You've got a table, at least. Pretty sure the house still wouldn't if it were up to Liam."
