Liam and Verity had decided to celebrate the whole 'officially moving in together' with a housewarming of sorts. Never mind that even before the rest of his stuff had made it over there, Liam had basically been living at the apartment in practice if not in name. Look, they wanted to throw a party, they were throwing a party. 'Housewarming' was just a convenient excuse.

The weapons that usually were strewn about the apartment had all been stashed in the bedroom, and there was a good selection of food and drinks (both alcoholic and non) laid out on the kitchen table. They might be in debt to the various restaurants in Fandom for providing the spread, but no one wanted to nosh on Verity's "leftover Chinese food fajita specials." The mice had even been bribed with a selection of the appetizers to stay away from the table of food. (They had not, however, been expressly forbidden from trying to convince anyone to give them food once it had left the table, so... fair warning.)

Coats go in the spare room and please don't touch the Barbie Dream House. Unless invited to by the mice, of course.

Seivarden groaned. "He fed you coffee, didn't he?"

She looked in Fjord's direction, shaking her head.

"I still don't get why he left."

If Seivarden didn't get it, then Amaya felt a little bit better about having no idea exactly what that little untimely departure was all about, but, at the same time, whatever it was going on between the two of them, it was none of her business and she intended to keep it that way.

"He fed me coffee," she confirmed with a nod and a faint smirk. "It was Wednesday, that's how things work. And within the hour, I was right back to my own self, so who's to say that coffee wasn't just what I needed the whole time, hmm?"

Coffee was pretty magical, after all. That was just a stone hard fact.

"Maybe next time you wind up turning into an animal, we should give it a try with tea."

Seivarden pretended to consider this.

"You are welcome to try. I was a cat once. I don't think I'd die from it."

Amaya might not fuss over her as a cat, but Seivarden would definitely prefer being looked after by her than being bullied by Issa.

Amaya snorted. "I'm almost certain you wouldn't," she assured her. "But, if you did, I can promise you this much. I would feel a little bad over the whole thing."

Yeah. Definitely no fussing there. She'd defiitely not be wanting for fish, though. Or tea, apparently.

Seivarden nodded slowly. "I appreciate that. You're a good friend, Amaya."

She would also appreciate the fish as a cat.

"You know," said Amaya, with a thoughtful tilt of her head, hand to her chin, "I keep hearing that. The lot of you keep it up, it's just going to go straight to my head..."

Ahh, who was she kidding? It was already there. On a list of things that a Blackstone lacked, confidence wasn't even close to making an appearance.

"You do? Then it must be true. You trust your friends, don't you?"

Seivarden grinned teasingly.

"Oh," said Amaya, "no. Not in the slightest."

Which wasn't true, she trusted...most of them implicitly, probably more than they deserved, really.

"I mean, you've met my friends."

She was even one of them.

"Some of them, yes."

She took a sip from her drink, looking at Amaya and clearly expected her to continue.
