Angel had pulled a few definitely illegal maneuvers and pointedly ignored the speed limit in order to get them to Carol's place in record time. Liam supposed he ought to frown on that, given that he was technically an officer of the law and all that. But given that someone's life was potentially on the line, he didn't particularly care.
They pulled up in front of Carol's apartment and as he and Ryan jumped out of the car, he handed his sidearm to Angel. "I'm asking you to stay here," he said, "Not because I don't want you in danger, but because we need to make sure we still have an escape route if things go south."
( That taken care of, Liam and Ryan headed in to the building and up the stairs to the floor Carol's apartment was on. )
