29 Chimera Court, Wednesday Morning

When Liam had gone to sleep the night before, he'd been a child. He knew, on some level, that something had gone wrong, because his instructions from his father when he'd been born hadn't involved spending any time as a child, and yet there he was. He hadn't been overly concerned about it, in any case.

Still, when he woke up this morning and noticed that he seemed to be taller, his limbs longer... well. It was a relief.

Until he looked in the mirror and saw a face staring back at him that still seemed kind of childlike. Older, yes, but too young to infiltrate Companion Services and fulfill his destiny. That was... troubling. Perhaps human DNA interacted oddly with Kimera DNA? Liam had no idea, and it wasn't as if there was anyone around he could ask.

He figured he ought to just make the best of it, starting with finding some breakfast.

Magnus coughed the word 'nerd' super loud at that. Because, well, Miguel was a nerd.

Miguel rolled his eyes. He absolutely was a nerd, and knew it. "Yeah, which just means I'll be living sweet in a high-rise while you try to make ends meet. Besides, you were the one all excited for school."

"Shows what you know, I'm gonna join Fantasy NASA," Magnus shot back.

"You mean you're joining NASA in your fantasies?" Miguel asked. "Pretty sure they only take nerds."

"No, pretty sure I said what I said, my dude," Magnus said with a shrug. "Maybe you need to ask mom for food or something."

"So you're gonna join some weird NASA ripoff?" Miguel snorted. "How's that better. And I have food."

It was even pretty good. Whoever the guy that claimed to be his roommate was.

"No, it's the Í͒͌͐̾̐̚P̛͔̩͇̺͖̮̠̩̐̃̐̈́̾͊́͠Ŗ̟̳̭̝̣̈̃͒̑͂͑̐̚͜E̞̪̺͇̲͔̾̄͋̎̔̊̀̓͆̕͟." He frowned as the acronym sounded funny to his ears. And like static to literally everyone else.

Miguel squinted. "The what?"

Magnus frowned harder, finding it tough to remember it himself. Like trying to hold onto sand or some other super poetic thing Griffin might say.

"Not important, I guess."

Whatever. This kid was clearly nuts. Miguel was happy to just let it go and ignore him.
