29 Chimera Court, Wednesday Morning
When Liam had gone to sleep the night before, he'd been a child. He knew, on some level, that something had gone wrong, because his instructions from his father when he'd been born hadn't involved spending any time as a child, and yet there he was. He hadn't been overly concerned about it, in any case.
Still, when he woke up this morning and noticed that he seemed to be taller, his limbs longer... well. It was a relief.
Until he looked in the mirror and saw a face staring back at him that still seemed kind of childlike. Older, yes, but too young to infiltrate Companion Services and fulfill his destiny. That was... troubling. Perhaps human DNA interacted oddly with Kimera DNA? Liam had no idea, and it wasn't as if there was anyone around he could ask.
He figured he ought to just make the best of it, starting with finding some breakfast.

"This body," he said finally, quietly. "Is not... right."
He knew he was supposed to be an adult. Not in the sense that he knew he was an adult who had been transformed back in to a teenager, but that his instructions from his father had involved accelerating his growth until he was one. But something had interrupted that. Twice, now.
He also wasn't entirely sure why he was trusting Reno with this information, given how dangerous it could possibly be in the wrong hands. But here he was.

Huh. Interesting.
"Supposed to be older, you mean?"
... Reno had no idea about the whole kimera thing. He was still keeping his head on the Fandom thing. Either way, the conversation seemed to be headed in that direction.

Reno considered him for a long moment, looking him up and down. And then he shrugged.
"Tell you what," he replied. "I'll get on that for you. Gimme... Gimme a week, tops. If you ain't the way you're supposed to be by the end of that week, kick my ass if you gotta, I'll get off your case an' you can do what you need to do."
He figured a week had to be enough time.

A week was... a long time. From his perspective.

Reno shrugged his shoulders.
"I know this place," he replied. "Been here longer'n almost anyone I know. I seen it do weird shit to people's bodies without any warning. If anyone knows where to start lookin' for info on this one, it's me. Island's records, old news reports, that kinda thing? Yeah, I got that. I'm a Turk."
And anyway, it'd go away before too long, he was sure.

"And what's a Turk, then?" Other than someone from a country in the Middle East. Which... this guy seemed awfully pale for that to be the case.
Then again, so did Liam, and he was one-third

"Probably the one person on the island who understands the importance of doin' the job almost as well as you do," Reno said. He lifted his chin. "You leave it to me, it'll get done. It's what I'm for."
Turks who didn't do the job generally ended up real dead.

"One week," Reno said, nodding and crossing his arms over his chest. "Leave it to me. In the meantime, you enjoy this while you got it. Go find a dog to play with or some shit. I'll hit up the library, poke at my contacts, get right on this, yo."
Spoiler: He'd spend twenty minutes making certain that it was more than just Liam, and then he'd spend the rest of the week looking up porn or something. Job done.

"Figure it out, Rookie," Reno replied, shrugging. "Go eat some ice cream or kick a ball or get a video game or somethin', yo. Be a kid until we can get you all grown up. You ain't gonna get many other chances to do that, are you?"
no subject
"No. I suppose not."

"Go on, get outta here," Reno said, waving a hand around vaguely. "Chew some fuckin' bubblegum or somethin'. I got work to do."
Well, he had to pretend really hard that he was actually doing some work for at least a couple of days. Worth it.
