Liam had made plans with Kaidan and Verity to go on something of a joyride today, so he'd shown up at the junkyard early to give himself time to do an extra-thorough pre-flight check.

The virtual glass shimmered and became permeable as the shuttle recognized his biometrics, and he sat down in the pilot's seat and brought up the HUD.

ID core, optimal; conventional drive, optimal; weapons, optimal; communications, online; backup controls, online... everything seemed to be in working order. Now he just needed his passengers.

Verity's expression was one of dawning horror just before Abrazo burst from where he'd been hiding.

"ALL HAIL THE CHEESE AND CAKE!"

Ugh. Verity was just going to bury her face in her hands for forever now. Nice amateur move, Price.

Kaidan laughed as the little mouse came out and shouted a hail for cheese and cake. He turned an amused look on Liam. "Well? Did you bring snacks and beverages?"

Honestly, it wouldn't have surprised him. Random shawarama may appear, indeed.

"I did not," Liam apologized, fighting back laughter. "My bad. We could always handwavily head somewhere after, but right now?" A wave of his hand replaced the diagnostic with the navigational array. "Space awaits."

"There is no cheese or cake," Verity said loudly. The mouse drooped in disappointment. "We've come to witness the stars, a view that no Aeslin has ever seen. Expecting anything else would be greedy."

Sometimes you have to be firm with Aeslin. Especially when it came to snacks.
