MHA #6, Late Tuesday Morning

Apparently, Fandom had decided that just-shy-of-two-weeks was plenty of time for Liam to be a cat, because at some point Tuesday morning, he found himself changed back. Thankfully for his dignity, said transformation did not take place when he was out and about in public, but rather while he was home at Verity's apartment. Really, his only complaint was that it had woken him up from a cat-nap rather sound sleep.

Which, speaking of... apparently spending so long as a cat meant there was a little bit of a lingering influence, as normally he would have been up and about for hours now. But instead, all he did was slip on a pair of boxers, and then crawl back into the bed to snuggle with Verity properly

Hey, those two activities could be combined into her absolute favorite mornings, where morning wake-up sex then turned into a proper lie-in. Which could even turn back into another interlude of wake-up sex a few hours later.

"What, you didn't think you could enjoy a lie-in without boxers on?" Verity asked, drawing her legs up and out of the shorts. "Worried something might distract you?"

Well, he didn't normally sleep naked, and doing so after turning back from a cat had just seemed especially weird.

"Well, I'm not going to name any names, but there is someone in this room who has been known to be kind of grumpy if they don't get enough sleep..." he said teasingly.

Neither did Verity, though hers came more from growing up with mice and siblings, neither of whom respected privacy much.

"I know," Verity said with a sigh. "And, look, Liam, I'm not saying it's a problem, exactly? But still, you might wanna think about working on being sweeter-tempered in the morning."

It's okay, Liam. Nobody thought you were dating her for her humor.

And oh look, the boxers were no longer part of this equation.

"Maybe I just need the right incentive."

"I can think of a couple of things that'll perk you right up."

...That was accompanied by a very deliberate glance, yes.

And then she was reaching for him, over making jokes. "God, Liam, I missed you so much." She pulled him for a kiss, reaching for his hands to place them over her body.

Liam kissed back fiercely, his hands roving as he did so, mapping the curves of her body.

Verity reached for one of his hands, pulling it away from her skin just long enough to press her palm against his. She wanted him to feel just how much she needed him, just how badly she ached.

Being able to talk wasn’t the only form of communication he’d missed over the past two weeks.

I love you, he sent back, emotion mingled with thought as he eased inside her.

Verity smiled up at him, until she needed to close her eyes and moan instead, pressing her knees against his hips. "Yes," she gasped.

God, but he loved that smile.

"S'what you need?" he asked, leaning in to capture her mouth with his again. It was what he needed too, to feel himself surrounded by her.

Verity didn't answer. Kissing Liam took priority over responding to the question they both knew the answer two. Yes, she needed him, needed this, needed to feel him way far deep inside of her. Her tongue traced around his mouth and she knew that this one round wouldn't be enough.

Not after two weeks.

Shit. She was solidly addicted to Liam Kincaid.

And Liam was all too willing to enable this particular addiction, truth be told. They did have all day. Time for slow and sweet, and hot and heavy...

Right now, the mood was definitely leaning towards the latter, though.

If he tried for slow now, she really would pull a weapon on him, dear god.

She whispered filthy things in his ear keeping up a litany of all the things she wanted him to do to her, all the fantasies she'd entertained herself with these past weeks, the way he made her body ache and clench around him.

Well, he'd have to wait for most of them, anyway. 'Make me come hard and loud' had definitely been on that list. Several times.

Liam was not far behind, naturally. One hand scrabbled for hers again, because feedback loops were a wonderful thing.

Well, sure if he wanted her to shudder her way through his orgasm, too, then that was an easy way to do it.

And even when he was done, she didn't let go, clinging to him a little while longer. Because yes, this warmth, this longing and closeness, that was what she'd been missing, too.

"That," he managed finally, "was one hell of a welcome back."

"If you promise not to turn into a cat again, I'll provide just as good 'glad you're still here' encores," Verity said muzzily, sleep starting to besiege her brain again now that her body was once again completely exhausted.

"You really know how to incentivize a guy," Liam said, pressing a quick kiss to Verity's lips. One hand drifted up to start playing with her hair. "I promise." As much as one could promise not to fall victim to Fandom's whims, anyway.

Verity shifted a bit, moving out from underneath him to roll onto her side and then tugged him close, placing his hands on her breasts. More for comfort at this point, than desire, though desire still lurked low, currently satisfied but not satiated. "Good. Twice in six months is plenty. You don't see me getting kidnapped again, do you?"

Those were absolutely equal, yes Verity.

"That's true," Liam said, thumbs ghosting across her skin to trace slow circles around first one nipple, then the other. "Maybe we should celebrate that, too."

Verity made an obscene little noise in her throat, wiggling back closer to Liam. Her ass pressed against his groin and she shifted, turning the motion into something of a caress. "I'm liking where you're going with this," she said, voice low.

Oh, but that felt good.

"Thought the whole point was no one was going anywhere," Liam teased, pressing his lips to the nape of her neck.

"No, no, nobody's leaving," Verity explained, shivering. She clutched his hand more tightly to his chest. "But going is certainly possible. Down, for example."

She smirked. "Coming is on the table, too."
